أدْخُلُوا مِنَ البَابِ الضَّيِّق: لأَنَّهُ وَاسِعٌ البَاب ورَحْبٌ الطَّرِيقُ الَّذي يُؤَدِّي إِلى الهَلاك، وكَثِيرُون هُمُ الَّذينَ يَدْخُلُون مِنْهُ؛
إنجيل القدّيس متّى07/من13حتى27/: “قالَ الربُّ يَسوع: «أُدْخُلُوا مِنَ البَابِ الضَّيِّق: لأَنَّهُ وَاسِعٌ البَاب ورَحْبٌ الطَّرِيقُ الَّذي يُؤَدِّي إِلى الهَلاك، وكَثِيرُون هُمُ الَّذينَ يَدْخُلُون مِنْهُ؛ ومَا أَضْيَقَ البَابَ وأَحْرَجَ الطَّرِيقَ الَّذي يُؤَدِّي إِلى الحَيَاة، وقَلِيلُونَ هُمُ الَّذينَ يَجِدُونَهُ. إِحْذَرُوا الأَنْبِيَاءَ الكَذَبةَ الَّذينَ يَأْتُونَكُم بِلِبَاسِ الحُمْلان، وهُمْ في بَاطنِهِم ذِئَابٌ خَاطِفَة. مِنْ ثِمَارِهِم تَعْرِفُونَهُم: هَلْ يُجْنَى مِنَ الشَّوْكِ عِنَب، أَو مِنَ العَوْسَجِ تِين؟ هكَذَا كُلُّ شَجَرَةٍ صَالِحَةٍ تُثْمِرُ ثِمَارًا جَيِّدَة. أَمَّا الشَّجَرَةُ الفَاسِدَةُ فَتُثْمِرُ ثِمَارًا رَدِيئَة. لا تَقْدِرُ شَجَرَةٌ صَالِحَةٌ أَنْ تُثْمِرَ ثِمَارًا رَدِيئَة، ولا شَجَرَةٌ فَاسِدَةٌ أَنْ تُثْمِرَ ثِمَارًا جَيِّدَة. كُلُّ شَجَرَةٍ لا تُثْمِرُ ثَمَرًا جَيِّدًا تُقْطَعُ وتُلْقَى في النَّار. فَمِنْ ثِمَارِهِم تَعْرِفُونَهُم. لَيْسَ كُلُّ مَنْ يَقُولُ لي: يَا رَبّ، يَا رَبّ! يَدْخُلُ مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَاوات، بَلْ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ مَشِيئَةَ أَبِي الَّذي في السَّمَاوَات. كَثِيرُون سَيَقُولُونَ لي في ذلِكَ اليَوْم: يَا رَبّ، يَا رَبّ! أَمَا بِٱسْمِكَ تَنَبَّأْنَا، وبِٱسْمِكَ أَخْرَجْنا الشَّيَاطِين، وبِٱسْمِكَ عَمِلْنَا كَثيرًا مِنَ الأَعْمَالِ القَدِيرَة؟ فَحِينَئِذٍ أُعْلِنُ لَهُم: مَا عَرَفْتُكُمُ البَتَّة. إِبْتَعِدُوا عَنِّي يَا فَاعِلِي الإِثْم! فَكُلُّ مَنْ يَسْمَعُ أَقْوَالي هذِهِ، ويَعْمَلُ بِهَا، يُشْبِهُ رَجُلاً حَكِيْمًا بَنَى بَيْتَهُ عَلى الصَّخْرَة. وهَطَلَتِ الأَمْطَار، وفَاضَتِ الأَنْهَار، وعَصَفَتِ الرِّيَاح، وصَدَمَتْ ذلِكَ البَيْت، فَلَمْ يَسْقُطْ، لأَنَّ أَسَاسَهُ بُنِيَ عَلى الصَّخْرَة. وكُلُّ مَنْ يَسْمَعُ أَقْوَالي هذِهِ، ولا يَعْمَلُ بِهَا، يُشْبِهُ رَجُلاً جَاهِلاً بَنَى بَيْتَهُ عَلى الرَّمْل. وهَطَلَتِ الأَمْطَار، وجَرَتِ الأَنْهَار، وعَصَفَتِ الرِّيَاح، وصَدَمَتْ ذلِكَ البَيْت، فَسَقَط، وكَانَ سُقُوطُهُ عَظِيْمًا.»

وإِنْ كانَ أَحَدٌ لا يُطِيعُ كَلِمَتَنَا في هذهِ الرِّسَالة، فلاحِظُوهُ ولا تُخَالِطُوه، لَعَلَّهُ يَخْجَل”
“رسالة القدّيس بولس الثانية إلى أهل تسالونيقي03/من06حتى14/: “يا إخوَتِي، نُوصِيكُم، بِٱسْمِ الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ المَسِيح، أَنْ تَتَجَنَّبُوا كُلَّ أَخٍ يَسْلُكُ سُلُوكًا مُقْلِقًا، مُخَالِفًا لِلتَّقْليدِ الَّذي تَلَقَّيْتُمُوهُ مِنَّا. فَأَنْتُم أَنْفُسُكُم تَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ يَنْبَغِي أَنْ تَقْتَدُوا بِنَا، لأَنَّنَا لَمْ نَكُنْ بيْنَكُم مُقْلِقِين، ولا أَكَلْنَا الخُبْزَ مَجَّانًا مِنْ أَحَد، بَلْ كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ بِتَعَبٍ وكَدّ، لَيْلَ نَهَار، لِئَلاَّ نُثَقِّلَ عَلى أَحدٍ مِنْكُم، لا لأَنَّهُ لَيْسَ لنا سُلْطَان، بَلْ لِكَي نُعْطِيَكُم أَنْفُسَنَا مِثَالاً لِتَقْتَدُوا بِنَا. فإِنَّنَا، لَمَّا كُنَّا عِنْدَكُم، كُنَّا نُوصِيكُم بِهذَا: إِذا كَانَ أَحدٌ لا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَعْمَل، فعَلَيْهِ أَيْضًا أَنْ لا يَأْكُل! وقَدْ سَمِعْنَا أَنَّ بَعضًا مِنُكم يَسْلُكُونَ سُلُوكًا مُقْلِقًا، ولا يَعْمَلُونَ شَيئًا، لكِنَّهُم يَعْمَلُونَ مَا لا يَعْنِيهِم. فَنُوصِي أَمثَالَ هؤُلاء، ونُنَاشِدُهُم في الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ المَسِيح، أَنْ يَعْمَلُوا بِهُدُوءٍ ويَأْكُلُوا خُبْزَهُم. أَمَّا أَنْتُم، أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَة، فلا تَمَلُّوا عَمَلَ الخَير. وإِنْ كانَ أَحَدٌ لا يُطِيعُ كَلِمَتَنَا في هذهِ الرِّسَالة، فلاحِظُوهُ ولا تُخَالِطُوه، لَعَلَّهُ يَخْجَل”!

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 07/13-27: “‘Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it. ‘Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits. ‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord”, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only one who does the will of my Father in heaven. On that day many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name? ” Then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.”‘Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell and great was its fall!’

Take note of those who do not obey what we say in this letter; have nothing to do with them, so that they may be ashamed.
Second Letter to the Thessalonians 03/06-14: “We command you, beloved, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from believers who are living in idleness and not according to the tradition that they received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us; we were not idle when we were with you, and we did not eat anyone’s bread without paying for it; but with toil and labour we worked night and day, so that we might not burden any of you. This was not because we do not have that right, but in order to give you an example to imitate. For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: Anyone unwilling to work should not eat. For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work. Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. Brothers and sisters, do not be weary in doing what is right. Take note of those who do not obey what we say in this letter; have nothing to do with them, so that they may be ashamed.
